What To Expect From Orlando Fire Extinguisher Pressure Testing

Service With A Smile

Every member of the DynaFire team is committed to giving our clients the best service, and we believe that starts from the inside out. One way that we foster this culture is through our Hearts For Service acknowledgments, which are given out internally each week to recognize members of the DynaFire team who are living out our core values. Check out this Heart For Service that Jeffrey D. left for 3 members of our field staff last week:

“I just want to let you know the techs did an outstanding job. They were very professional and kept their work areas clean and safe for our residents and staff. I was very impressed with their work ethic. The job went smoothly and finished sooner than I expected. Thank you for a job well done.”

Thorough Hydrostatic Testing

To keep your fire extinguisher fully functional, Orlando fire extinguisher pressure testing is conducted every 5 and 12 years, depending on the manufacturer’s recommendations and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. Your fire extinguisher is pressurized, which means it needs to be tested to make sure that it is safe for use in an emergency situation.

Hydrostatic testing is used to identify leaks and to verify the overall strength of your fire extinguisher. This kind of testing needs to be done by trained and qualified professionals, like the technicians at DynaFire.

When we begin, we will give your extinguisher a thorough internal and external inspection and then remove most of the components, leaving the fire extinguisher shell and hose. The extinguisher is then filled (usually with water) and it is pressurized according to manufacturer requirements.

Our technicians will be looking for:

  • Signs of leaks
  • Permanent movement of couplings
  • Loss of pressure
  • Distortion
  • And more

If anything is seen that would affect the integrity of the fire extinguisher, it must be removed from service and replaced with a functioning extinguisher.
